DOR MO 1099g
- Allows residents in the state of Missouri to access the Missouri Department of Revenue 1099-G inquiry service
- The is a free service provided by the state of Missouri and paid for by the tax payers
- 1099-G information online can be obtained over a secure server 24 hours a day 7 days a week
- Users will need their social security number in order to use the service
- The service is simple to use and operated by the Missouri Department of Revenue, pursuant to Section 32.057
The DOR MO 1099g service reports the amount of refunds, credits and other offsets of state income tax during the previous year AND only applies to individuals who itemize their deductions on their income tax return. Some tax payers may not receive a 1099-G… this is the case for the Missouri tax payer who claimed the standard run of the mill deduction and did not itemize last year (1099-G information can also be obtained via phone by calling (573) 526-8299. Please note when using the telephone information system the same exact information will need to be provided as online (i.e. social, 5 digit zip code shown on the tax payers most recently filed return, and the filing status of their most recent return). Those Missouri tax payers who have filed a change of address within the last year with the United States Postal Service, may need to use the zip code of their new address in order to obtain 1099g information.
DOR MO 1099G Quick Notes
- Filing status options are single, married combined, married seperate, head of household, qualfying widow with a child, or claimed on another return (this is unusual but can happen)
- Missouri residents who live outside the United States must enter 00000 in place of a zip code to obtain a copy
- The Missouri Department of Revenue is no longer mailing out 1099g forms and instead are sending a postcard providing the tax payer with information on how to obtain 1099g info
